Kerry Hotel Pudong, Shanghai will show support for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October with a ‘Think Pink’ campaign, which will culminate in a charity luncheon on October 30. The event will follow with an attempt to set a world record: the largest ball bath in history.
The hotel will fill the pool with one million pink and green bubble balls and three hundred recovering cancer patients from the Shanghai Cancer Recover Club will be there to participate. The Bubble Balls go on sale on 1 October at the Hotel and throughout the community for RMB 35 per 100 balls.
Kerry hotel has partnered with ‘More Than Aware’ charity organisation in an effort to raise awareness and reduce the stigma of breast cancer through education on symptoms and treatment in Shanghai, and ultimately across China.
The theme for this year’s event is Surviving, Thriving, Diving into Life. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Shanghai Cancer Recovery Club.
The hotel will also be participating in a month-long campaign, creating unique events.
The hotel will offer Pink facials at the hotel’s Spa, Kerry Sports Pink exercise classes, a complimentary glass of sparkling rosé prosecco or rose hip tea in The Lounge on Tuesdays, pink cider in The BREW and free-flowing sparkling rosé on Sundays. On October 26, Kerry hotel will host a Pink Bazaar and invite 40 vendors to display and sell their wares in the courtyard of Kerry Parkside.
The hotel has also organised a “Pledge Your Ponytail” hair-cutting event, where professional hairdressers will offer complimentary haircuts to women willing to donate six or more inches of their hair to make wigs for cancer patients.
More Than Aware is a Shanghai-based non-profit organisation that aims to empower women to proactively prevent breast cancer by being accountable for their own personal well-being.
