Luxa Terra: a publication for thoughtful luxury travel.
Our story

About Luxa Terra

Slow down. Look closer. Travel better.
An independent publication for travellers looking past the postcard.

Luxa Terra is an independent publication exploring a more thoughtful kind of luxury travel.

We recommend hotels, restaurants, experiences, and travel essentials where aesthetic allure meets authentic soul. Places with a strong sense of place and genuine care for the people, cultures, and landscapes that surround them.

Every recommendation passes our simplest, most ruthless test: would we genuinely return?

We are not a booking platform. We are not a directory of everything. Think of us as the well-travelled friend who's done the legwork, skipped the tourist traps, and saved the best table for you: a deliberately curated collection of places, because a short list you trust is worth infinitely more than an endless one you don't.

the manifesto

A world of wander. Best of its kind. Kind to the world.

We champion the stays, stories, and perspectives shaping a more meaningful way to explore the world. From pristine eco-retreats and conservation-led safaris to farm-to-table dining and quietly extraordinary design, Luxa Terra uncovers places that are not only beautiful, but thoughtful in how they exist within the world around them.

our review standard

Visited. Verified. Vetted.

Every recommendation is rigorously reviewed, not just for aesthetics and service, but for substance. We look beneath the surface: design philosophy, hospitality warmth, environmental ethics, cultural consideration, and that impossible-to-fake sense of place that separates the truly memorable from the merely expensive.

editor's note

Namibia: where the land is vast and the perspectives are endless.

Between us, my husband and I have wandered through more than 50 countries across six continents. But it was our honeymoon in Namibia that completely reshaped our understanding of what luxury travel could mean.

There, we discovered a different kind of luxury: one rooted in wilderness, slowness, conservation, craftsmanship, and genuine connection to place. We realised it was entirely possible to experience extraordinary beauty and world-class hospitality while contributing positively to local communities and ecosystems.

That revelation became the compass behind Luxa Terra. A publication dedicated to the places, people, and perspectives quietly rewriting the rules of what luxury travel can, and should, look like.

Wholesome wanderlust.

Florine Eppe Beauloye
Founder & Editor-in-Chief, Luxa Terra

"True luxury doesn't cost the world its wonders. It quietly gives something back: to the land, the culture, the people who call it home."

How we work

Our reputation rests entirely on whether our recommendations are good. A few principles guard that. We've written each one up in full so you can see exactly how we operate.

  • Editorial policy: how places are selected, reviewed, and verified, and where partnerships fit in.
  • Corrections: how we handle mistakes and updates when things change on the ground.
  • Earnings disclaimer: what affiliate links are, when we use them, and why they never influence what we recommend.
  • Ownership & funding: who owns Luxa Terra and how it's funded.
