Editorial Policy.
Luxa Terra is an independent editorial publication for ethical luxury travel, and our reputation rests on whether our recommendations are good. This page covers how we choose a place, how we check it, and how we keep editorial judgement separate from commercial interest.
How we select places
Every place we feature is chosen by our editors on merit. We start from a simple editorial brief (the best spas in a city, the restaurants worth crossing town for, the hotels that justify the rate) and build the list from research, first-hand visits, trusted local sources, and the property's own track record.
How we research and verify
Before a place is published we verify the details that matter: that it is open and operating, that its standards still hold, and that what we say about it is accurate. We check claims against the property's own information, reputable reporting, and, wherever possible, direct observation.
Where we have visited in person, we say so. Where an assessment draws on research and reporting rather than a stay of our own, we say that too.
Sourcing and attribution
We favour primary sources: the venue itself, the people who run it, and our own visits. When we rely on outside reporting or data, we choose sources with a record of accuracy, and link to them where it helps the reader. We will not republish marketing copy as though it were independent assessment, and we will not present sponsored or supplied material as editorial.
Editorial independence
We take our editorial independence seriously. When a story or placement has been paid for, it is clearly labelled as sponsored content, so readers can always tell sponsored work apart from our independent editorial. Complimentary stays, meals, or press access may inform a piece, but they do not change the standard a place has to meet to be recommended.
Some of our articles also contain affiliate links, and we may earn a commission when readers book or buy through them. This is set out in full in our earnings disclaimer.
Updates and corrections
Places change. They close, they renovate, they change hands, or they simply slip. We revisit and update articles as that happens, and we date every update so readers can see how current a piece is.
We also get things wrong sometimes, and when we do we fix it and say so. If you spot an error, whether a place that has closed, a detail that has changed, or a fact we got wrong, please tell us through our contact page and we will correct the article. Substantive corrections are noted on the page itself.
Accountability
We publish under a single editorial byline, the Luxa Terra Editorial Team, rather than crediting individual writers. Our recommendations are the product of collective research, editing, and fact-checking, and we hold the publication, not any one writer, accountable for what appears here. Luxa Terra is published by mOOnshot digital LLC. Editorial questions, corrections, and feedback can reach the team through our contact page.
