Nurai Island Resort

A private-island Abu Dhabi retreat reached by boat, with beach villas, Arabian Gulf views and polished escapism.

Nurai Island Resort is Abu Dhabi’s answer to the “how far away can we feel by dinner?” question. The answer, pleasingly, is about ten to fifteen minutes by boat from Saadiyat Island or the city’s shore, depending on the source and transfer point.

It is an island retreat with hammocks, lawns, ocean views, boat cruises, fishing trips, jet skis and wakeboarding. Nurai is a boutique private-island resort in the Arabian Gulf, a secluded stay east of Abu Dhabi’s coast and accessible by boat.

This is escapism with Emirati efficiency: close enough for a weekend, distant enough to let the skyline fall away. The villas and beachfront setting are the draw, but the better luxury is psychological. You have crossed water; the day has been given a border.

Activities are part of the rhythm, from water sports to cruises, though the island is just as persuasive when you do very little. A hammock, a sea view and a cold drink can be a perfectly complete itinerary when the scenery has done its homework.

Nurai is not pitched as a sustainability showcase, so Luxa Terra’s interest is more selective: privacy, place, beachside calm and the way a short boat ride can turn Abu Dhabi into a different mood entirely.
