Oslo Badstuforening

Oslo's non-profit sauna association, operating floating and urban saunas with shared sessions, private bookings and fjord dips.

Oslo Badstuforening makes one of Norway’s best urban rituals feel wonderfully democratic: sweat, breathe, step outside, plunge into the fjord, repeat until the city looks kinder. The association runs floating and land-based saunas across Oslo, with shared sessions, private bookings and sauna rituals for those who like their wellness with a little steam choreography.

Oslo Badstuforening is a volunteer, non-commercial association whose surplus goes back into developing the offer. Its vision is “sauna for the people”, with locations including Sukkerbiten, Langkaia, Sagene Folkebad, Kroloftet, Hvervenbukta, Grefsenkollen and Folk.

The experience can be as social or as quiet as you make it. Book a shared sauna and you may find yourself among locals treating a winter dip as casually as a coffee run. Reserve a private sauna and the same ritual becomes a small, wood-warmed ceremony with the Oslofjord as your plunge pool.

What makes it Luxa Terra-worthy is the model as much as the mood. This is accessible wellbeing with a civic heart, not exclusivity wrapped in a robe. The saunas are atmospheric, the water is brisk, and the whole thing feels rooted in place.

Bring swimwear, a towel and a willingness to look briefly ridiculous before feeling excellent.
