Soria Moria Sauna is small, sharp and rather wonderful. Set by Bandak lake in Dalen, Telemark, it is less a spa in the conventional sense than a piece of ritual architecture: heat, water, mountain air and a silhouette that looks as though it belongs to the landscape.
The building was created as part of Telemark’s wider art and architecture route, and its angular form borrows from the surrounding peaks and local storytelling. The reflection on the lake and the mountain-framed drama are the point. This is not about elaborate treatment menus. It is about sitting still long enough for the view to start doing the work.
Bookings can be made for solo sessions, pairs or small groups, depending on availability. The experience is beautifully simple: warm up, look out, cool down, repeat until your shoulders remember where they are supposed to sit.
