The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort
Private-island Maldives resort in Dhaalu Atoll with 77 pool villas, seven dining venues, butlers and Iridium Spa.
The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort is what happens when the private-island formula decides to go sculptural. Set on Vommuli in Dhaalu Atoll, the resort pairs white sand and rainforest with overwater silhouettes, polished butler service and the sort of villa inventory that makes “room category” feel wildly inadequate.
The resort runs 33 on-land and 44 overwater villas, each with private terraces and pools, plus seven restaurants and bars, a private lagoon, dive and watersports centre, outdoor infinity pool and the Iridium Spa. The 77-residence count and ocean-inspired wellness focus shape the whole stay.
Design is part of the performance here. Villas draw on island and marine cues, while the spa sits over the water as a sanctuary for treatments, rituals and highly photogenic stillness. The resort also references reef-restoration work with Reefscapers, a useful sign that the house-reef romance is at least being treated as something to steward, not just stage.
This is not a pared-back castaway stay. It is maximal Maldives, executed with St. Regis polish: yacht excursions, butlers, watersports, spa days and dinner plans that require decisions. Come when you want the lagoon to be beautiful, yes, but also brilliantly managed.
