The Retreat Spa at Blue Lagoon
Blue Lagoon Iceland’s subterranean Retreat Spa pairs private lagoon access with geothermal seawater, lava-rock design and the signature Ritual.
The Retreat Spa at Blue Lagoon is Icelandic wellness at quieter volume, with the minerals turned up. Built into the volcanic landscape in Grindavík, the 2,300-square-metre subterranean spa is surrounded by the Retreat Lagoon, a quieter extension of the mineral-rich geothermal waters that made Blue Lagoon famous.
Warm water, cliffs, open sky and lava energy sit beneath your feet. Day guests have unlimited access to the Retreat Spa, Retreat Lagoon and Blue Lagoon, plus private changing rooms and the Blue Lagoon Ritual. That Ritual is the heart of the experience: a sequence using silica, algae and mineral elements drawn from the volcanic environment.
There is also a useful culinary layer. Spa Restaurant serves robe-friendly nourishment, while Moss Restaurant brings Michelin-starred dining into the wider Retreat world. Few places make geology feel so personal. It is not just a soak; it is a polished, elemental pause between black lava, pale water and the peculiar luxury of doing very little on purpose.
