Uzuri Spa

The in-house spa at Radisson Blu Lusaka, with poolside relaxation, a Technogym-equipped fitness floor and a *Ukunchina* signature massage that pulls Zambian technique into the standard hotel-spa menu.

Uzuri Spa is the wellness floor of the Radisson Blu Lusaka, the business-and-leisure tower on the Great East Road that doubles as one of the capital’s better-equipped hotel spas. The layout is sensible: half a dozen indoor treatment rooms, a covered relaxation lounge by the outdoor pool, and direct access to the hotel’s Technogym fitness floor for travellers who’d rather earn their hot stones. The decor is dark wood, copper accents and low light, which is the right register for a Lusaka afternoon that has spent itself in heat and meetings.

The treatment menu reads broad in the European-spa register, with deep-tissue, Swedish, aromatherapy and hot-stone bodywork running through the day. The reason to come is the house signature, the Ukunchina, a Zambian-rooted massage that draws on the country’s traditional bodywork vocabulary and turns the hour into something more specific to where you are than a generic resort kneading session. Skincare is purifying and cooling, framed around the local climate rather than imported European logic, and the manicure-and-pedicure offer is properly equipped for travellers stepping off a long flight or a dusty bush road.

For Luxa Terra, Uzuri matters because Lusaka is short on serious city-spa rooms, and the ones that exist tend to be small, busy and patchily staffed. The Radisson’s scale lets Uzuri run consistent service, the Ukunchina gives the menu actual local character, and the pool deck handles the wind-down. Book a long appointment between a safari arrival and the onward flight, and the airline seat that put you there starts to be forgivable.
