Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club
A 300-acre resort across Rendezvous Bay and Merrywing Bay in Anguilla, with a par-72 Greg Norman course on the beach, the nine-hole Avalon Links, the Sorana Spa and villas with private pools.
Two holes at Aurora Anguilla share one green on the beach. On Greg Norman’s International Course, the 2nd and 10th meet on a 16,000 sq ft green on Rendezvous Beach, looking out over the Anguilla Channel. The 2nd is a par 3 that carries a saltwater lagoon. The resort calls the 18th one of the hardest finishing holes in the Caribbean, with a tee shot over the salt pond to a narrow green about 40 feet above. The full course is 18 holes, par 72 and 7,165 yards from the back tees.
Avalon Links, also by Norman, is a walking-only nine-hole course, par 27, that takes about an hour. The Aurora International Golf Academy has two Trackman bays.
The resort covers about 300 acres across two beaches, Rendezvous Bay and Merrywing Bay. The usual route in is through St. Maarten, then across by a 15-minute shared charter or by sea shuttle from Blowing Point. American Airlines also flies direct from Miami to Anguilla.
The rooms are split between the beaches. The Tower at Merrywing has deluxe rooms of 700 sq ft. On Rendezvous Beach the beachfront junior suites run to 900 sq ft and the one-bedroom suites to 2,225 sq ft. The estates and villas have private pools.
The restaurants include Tokyo Bay for Japanese food, D Richard’s steakhouse at the golf club, Sole di Mare and the Chef’s Table. The Chef’s Table has a wood-burning oven. The resort grows produce on its own organic and hydroponic farm. The Sorana Spa has 12 treatment rooms and two couples suites. Families get a water park with slides and a lazy river, and the resort also offers pickleball, tennis, sailing, diving and riding on the beach.
