Experience the nightlife in Gstaad

Gstaad's legendary après-ski, anchored by GreenGo Club at Gstaad Palace: a discotheque drawing royalty and rock stars since 1971.

Gstaad’s reputation is firmly mountain-quiet by day and firmly the opposite once the sun drops. This is, after all, the village that has been pulling in the rich and famous since the postwar era, and the GreenGo at Gstaad Palace is where that history is most audibly alive.

The club has been operating since 1971, which means it predates several current guests’ parents. Grace Kelly, Richard Burton, and Michael Jackson are among the names in the legend; the décor, resolutely anchored in its 1970s design origins, has not attempted to modernise itself, and that refusal turns out to be the correct creative decision. The mirrored walls and plush seating read now as genuinely retro rather than merely dated, and the crowd (ski season regulars, hotel guests, and the occasional international arrival) dresses accordingly.

The party atmosphere is properly international in a way that few alpine venues manage. The clientele comes from money but not always from the same country, and the combination tends to generate the particular social energy that only expensive destinations in peak season can arrange.

For visitors who assumed Gstaad was purely a high-altitude wellness destination, the GreenGo offers the wink. This is a village that has always known that the best après-ski ends well after the lifts close, and that not every evening needs to conclude with chamomile tea.

Arrive late, dress with intent, and settle in for the evening. Gstaad does not disappoint when it decides to stop being peaceful.
