Planta
Yorkville plant-based restaurant from PLANTA, pairing polished Toronto dining with sushi, hand rolls, lunch menus and all-day vegan plates.
PLANTA Yorkville is plant-based dining in a good shirt. The Toronto restaurant sits at 1221 Bay Street and presents a fully plant-powered menu across lunch, brunch, dinner, sushi, drinks and dessert. It is polished enough for a proper evening out, but broad enough to work for the friend who “just wants something easy”.
Chef David Lee built PLANTA around upscale plant-based dining that celebrates plants rather than apologising for them. The menu leans especially into Asian-inspired sushi and hand rolls, with eggplant “unagi”, watermelon “ahi”, hearts of palm, mushrooms and sweet potato doing the clever work.
PLANTA is useful because it speaks fluent mainstream hospitality. The room, menu and service rhythm all say restaurant first, vegan restaurant second. That distinction is powerful. It lets the food be creative without turning dinner into a lecture, which is exactly how better, kinder luxury should behave.
