Sport-Hotel Victoria
Gstaad promenade restaurant and pizzeria with Swiss-Italian comfort cooking, terrace tables and vegetarian-friendly options.
Sport-Hotel Victoria is Gstaad at its most easygoing: a family-run hotel restaurant and pizzeria on Promenade 72, right in the car-free village centre. No velvet-rope theatrics, no tasting-menu solemnity. Just Swiss and Italian comfort, a terrace in summer and the useful knowledge that dinner can be both relaxed and rather charming.
The kitchen runs Swiss cuisine and Italian specialities, including fondue and pizza. For vegetarian travellers, this is the sort of place where a meat-free pizza, pasta or salad can rescue a mountain day without turning the evening into a logistics project.
Vegan travellers should treat it as an ask-ahead address rather than a guaranteed plant-based destination. The chefs are open to requests, and listings still flag vegetarian and vegan options, although menus and opening days shift with the season in resort towns.
The pleasure here is situational. Arrive after a walk, take a table on the terrace if the weather is behaving, order something simple and let Gstaad’s chalet theatre play out around you. Sport-Hotel Victoria is not trying to be the grandest room in town. That is rather the point.
