The St. Regis Florence
Historic Arno-side Florence palace hotel with Renaissance architecture, butler service and old-world St. Regis ceremony.
The St. Regis Florence is not shy about its pedigree, and in Florence that is saying something. Set along the Arno, the hotel occupies a historic palace associated with Brunelleschi and sits close to the city’s landmark galleries and churches. In other words: useful, beautiful and fully aware of it.
This is a Florentine jewel in the historic centre, with St. Regis Butler Service and river-facing suites. The emotional register is frescoes, chandeliers, Renaissance-era grandeur and the sense that the building has been receiving well-dressed travellers for a very long time.
This is not the Florence stay for minimalists chasing monkish restraint. It is for travellers who want the city in full flourish: marble, mirrors, ceremony, an Arno view if the room category allows and service that treats a request for something at an inconvenient hour as part of the plot.
The trick is to let the hotel be theatrical without letting it swallow the trip. Step outside for the Uffizi, the Oltrarno, the morning light on the river. Then return for the particular pleasure of a palazzo that still knows how to hold a room. Florence can be overwhelming; The St. Regis at least overwhelms beautifully.
