The Abu Dhabi EDITION brings Ian Schrager’s polished EDITION mood to Al Bateen Marina, where the city softens into water, low evening light and the occasional reminder that Abu Dhabi does understatement better than it is given credit for. The hotel sits on the cusp of the marina, close enough to downtown for movement, removed enough for a proper exhale.
The exterior references the lateen sail of a traditional Abu Dhabi dhow, expressed through white geometric lines. Inside, the lobby draws on desert shifts and a kinetic structure inspired by falcon wings. There is a three-storey social space, three signature restaurants and rooms that work as recuperation havens from the Arabian sun.
It is a city hotel with a resort sensibility: waterfront calm, architectural confidence and a social pulse that does not need to shout. The design language is contemporary rather than ornamental, which suits travellers who want Abu Dhabi’s hospitality polish without defaulting to palace cosplay.
