Koko Bay

A Bali-inspired beach restaurant on Dubai's Palm Jumeirah: rattan, hammocks and guest DJs, plus a strong line in vegan dishes and a private beach.

Koko Bay sits on the iconic, tree-shaped Palm Jumeirah (the Dubai island known for its restaurants and hotels) and takes its cues from somewhere rather different: Bali, that long-standing wellness hotspot.

The influence is immediate. Rattan seating, bean bags, crocheted hammocks, dreamcatchers and a generous scattering of plants give the place a relaxed, beach-club ease that feels a world away from the city’s glass-and-steel register. There is a private beach to call its own, plus a large terrace made for a long lunch after a dip in the sea, and guest DJs keep things gently moving from day into evening.

Koko Bay is not a strictly vegetarian or vegan restaurant, but it is one of the area’s best for plant-based diners all the same. The Nom Nom Asian Crunch and the Beyond Burger are reliable choices, and the kitchen handles vegetable-led plates with real care rather than treating them as obligations.

Sweet-toothed guests are looked after too, with desserts such as mochi and lemon tart rounding off a meal.

For plant-forward travellers who want a relaxed, design-led spot on the Palm (somewhere to eat well, then move straight onto the sand), Koko Bay is an easy, enjoyable choice, and one of Dubai’s more laid-back addresses.
