Dior Spa opens at Copacabana Palace, the first in Latin America

The five-storey Wellness Club also brings a Pilates and Jiu-Jitsu studio, a recovery floor and a Suco Bar.

Dior Spa opens at Copacabana Palace, the first in Latin America

Rio de Janeiro's Copacabana Palace reopens its iconic Pool Wing on 3 November 2026, and with it comes Latin America's first Dior Spa. The Belmond hotel is pairing the reopening with a new five-storey Wellness Club, a collection of five distinct wellbeing spaces built above its famed pool.

The Dior Spa is in the renovated Pool Wing and has six treatment rooms, alongside a generous retail space devoted to the maison. The spa will be the only place in Rio selling La Collection Privée, Dior's haute perfumery line created by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian.

The retail offering extends to L'Or de Vie, Dior's ultra-premium skincare and longevity line drawn from extracts of Château d'Yquem, and the Prestige line made with the Granville rose, which is harvested just once a year. Dior Maison's wellness line makes its Brazilian debut here.

The signature experience, designed exclusively for this spa, is the Healing Heart Ceremony. It is an immersive holistic ritual inspired by the energy of the ocean, using semi-precious stones that vibrate in harmony with sound therapy tools such as singing bowls to guide guests towards inner alignment.

Dior has kept Rio in its orbit for decades. Marc Bohan, the house's creative director from 1960 to 1989, presented an haute couture collection in the palace's gardens in 1961. Fourteen years later he chose Copacabana Beach as the backdrop for the photoshoot of his swimwear collection.

Two treatments built with a Brazilian dermatologist

The spa opens in collaboration with Dr. Maria Bussade, a Brazilian dermatologist and founder of São Paulo's Bussade Health. Her holistic approach to skin health, the hotel says, mirrors Dior's own philosophy of beauty built on balance and expertise.

Together they created two signature treatments shaped by the rhythm of Carioca life, sun, movement and celebration. Both are available only at Copacabana Palace, and neither is offered at any other Dior Spa according to the hotel's own description.

The Couture Radiance Facial combines massage, dry brushing and micro-current therapy to leave the skin firmer and luminous. The Carioca High Sculpt draws on Brazil's celebrated art of body sculpting to detoxify, tone and reshape.

Dior's Haute Wellness menu is here too. Kobi-Dior is a precision facial massage co-created with Dior International Wellness Expert Hadda Akrim from the ancestral Japanese Kobido technique, and New Look Dior is a full-body treatment combining sculpting, drainage and micro-stimulation.

The Wellness Club beyond the Dior Spa

The Fitness Centre, equipped with Technogym's Artis line, spans two ground-floor spaces, and there is a private movement and yoga studio plus a space for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu where guests can learn and practise the martial art.

Every room is supplied with a yoga mat, and a team of personal trainers is on hand for guests who prefer to train in the privacy of their own suite. The wider stay now includes restorative rituals by the pool and on the beach.

The second floor holds a thermal area for rest, recovery and contrast therapy. It has saunas, including an infrared one, a steam room, an ice bath and an ice fountain, and a dedicated recovery floor is part of the same collection.

A relaxation lounge serves a curated selection of botanical waters and teas with light bites inspired by traditional Brazilian ingredients. The new Suco Bar draws on superfoods and remedies handed down through generations, and doubles as a place to gather through the day.

A hair salon, barbershop and Beauty Lounge complete the club. The Beauty Lounge is a private space for guests with a celebration, wedding or event at the hotel, welcoming preparations with Dior products or with the guests' own make-up artists.

The hotel says the project pairs the glamour that has defined Copacabana Palace for over a century with a contemporary approach, reinforcing Rio's standing as a global capital of body care.
