Aman and Remote Lands unveil two private-jet expeditions for 2028
Both journeys fly an Airbus ACJ 319, and the shorter one now runs just 15 nights.
Aman and Remote Lands have announced their 2028 collection of private-jet expeditions, adding two new journeys to a partnership that began in 2013. Both itineraries fly aboard an Airbus ACJ 319 jet, carrying guests between the group's resorts across Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
The operators have shortened the length of these adventures to better fit the schedules of today's luxury traveller. The first new trip, Cultural Treasures of Asia, runs 15 nights from March 4 to 19, while the second spans 17 nights in October under the name From Islands to Ancient Worlds.
Cultural Treasures of Asia is priced from $164,888 per person based on double occupancy, as is the 17-night October route, which starts at $198,888. The Asia trip opens with a stay at Aman Tokyo, where guests can take a sushi-making class with a master chef or a samurai sword lesson.
From Tokyo the jet carries guests onward to Angkor Wat in Cambodia, the world's largest religious structure, which is viewed from a private helicopter. The itinerary then moves through Tiger Leaping Gorge and the Tiger's Nest Monastery before touching down in India for the Taj Mahal.
The October journey and its new resort
From Islands to Ancient Worlds departs in October and begins at Aman Kyoto, where a private geisha evening and Zen meditation open the trip. Guests then head to the group's private island in the Philippines and its resort in Indonesia's Central Java, dotted with UNESCO temples.
The journey then settles into the yet-to-be-opened Amanpulo in the Maldives, which debuts in 2028 and is ringed by white-sand beaches and turquoise water. The final legs run through the U.A.E.'s Jumeirah Burj Al Arab, Montenegro's Adriatic coast and Istanbul.
Alongside the two new trips, Aman and Remote Lands have also crafted 2028 itineraries through China's UNESCO sites and ventures across Southeast Asia. Each journey can be fully customised, with every couple or solo traveller given their own luxury car, driver and guide at each destination.
Catherine Heald, chairman, chief executive and founder of Remote Lands, framed the collection as nearly fourteen years in the making. "For almost 14 years, our partnership with Aman has allowed us to redefine what is possible in private jet travel," she said in a statement, "creating journeys that go far beyond simply visiting a destination."
Heald said the 2028 expeditions represent extraordinary access, cultural immersion and seamless, personalised travel. "From the ancient wonders of Asia to idyllic islands and historic cities, each journey has been meticulously designed to give our guests a deeper connection to the places they visit," she added.
That deeper connection comes from Remote Lands, the luxury tour operator, which uses its contacts around the world to place guests inside local culture. The shorter run times are the notable change, a deliberate trimming aimed at the ever-busier luxury itinerary.
Aman's original Bali property, Amandari, opened above the Ayung River near Ubud as a village-style layout of thatched suites among rice paddies and the jungle valley below. It is a reminder of how far the group's footprint now reaches, from Bali to Tokyo, Kyoto and the Maldives.
We have covered much of the Aman footprint as it grew. We wrote up Aman New York's four private Homes with pools and butlers, and profiled the Aman Spa at The Connaught in London, where a personalised menu built around grounding, purifying and nourishing shares space with acupuncture, osteopathy and Chinese herbal medicine.
Our guide to Amanera notes its clifftop position at Rio San Juan, with a spa whose moon-cycle rituals, four-hand massage and Dominican dance classes track the lunar calendar. The expedition routes stitch resorts of this kind together by air in a single season.
What is and is not confirmed
The partnership has run for almost 14 years, and this 2028 slate builds on the itineraries the two companies released before it. The Airbus ACJ 319, the private guides and the car and driver at each stop carry over into this round.
No departure beyond the two stated windows has been confirmed, and the opening of Amanpulo has not been dated more precisely than during 2028. What is set is the aircraft and the route map, which the pair have now made public for the year ahead.
