Waldorf Astoria and Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya turn all-inclusive in 2027
Existing reservations are honoured, and guests under 18 after 10 January get help with alternatives.
Two of Hilton's flagship luxury resorts in Mexico flipped to an all-inclusive model on 1 October 2026. The Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya and the Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya are the first properties under either brand anywhere in the world to move fully to all-inclusive, according to a release shared by Hilton.
The Waldorf Astoria goes further. From 10 January 2027 it becomes adults-only, with every guest required to be 18 or older. The Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya keeps welcoming families, as does the Hilton Cancun Mar Caribe All-Inclusive Resort down the coast.
Sylvia Scholey, Hilton's vice president and global head of all-inclusive and resorts, framed the change as a response to what guests now demand. "Today's travelers want the freedom and ease of an all-inclusive resort, paired with the distinctive depth, personalization and sense of place they expect from Hilton's award-winning luxury brands," she said.
The 173-room Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya opened in November 2022 and became a fast favourite among Hilton Honors members chasing sun on Mexico's east coast. Under the new model, in-room dining and most on-site venues come at no extra charge, though certain specialty meals and events will still cost on top.
Drink is covered generously. Guests get unlimited premium beverages, artisanal cocktails and sommelier-selected wines, with an open bar running from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Daily refreshed minibars are also folded into the rate.
Complimentary daily activities, fitness-centre access and cultural experiences round out the inclusions. Hilton groups the programming into themes such as "Awaken your senses" for sunrise fitness classes and "Artisan Journeys" for craft workshops.
Eligible direct bookings also receive private round-trip transfers from Cancun International Airport. Nightly rates were not showing on Hilton's site as the announcement landed; the chain is expected to restore them once pricing shifts to the new model.
Bookings already in place will be honoured under the terms confirmed at the time of reservation, so guests holding all-inclusive dates should gain the inclusions without paying more.
The Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya opened in January 2022 and is the larger of the pair, with 349 rooms and suites, yet it reads as a secluded hideaway rather than another Mega resort lining the coast. Guests there will dine at a set of on-site restaurants included in the all-inclusive rate, with other experiences charged separately.
Direct bookings of four or more consecutive nights unlock further benefits at the Conrad. The resort also groups its included activities thematically, spanning "Awaken" sunrise yoga through to "After dark" live music and cultural showcases.
A new adults-focused offering called Ceiba Club debuts at the Conrad, granting access to an adults-only pool and beach. It also opens the door to the Autor restaurant serving contemporary Mexican cuisine, the Ceiba Lounge and Carbon Restaurant.
As at the Waldorf Astoria, room rates were unavailable at the moment of the announcement, likely while Hilton reworks its pricing and booking systems for all-inclusive tariffs. Existing reservations at the Conrad will likewise be honoured according to the plan and terms in place at booking.
The shift lands as all-inclusive continues its march across every price tier, from budget to luxury, as travellers look to extract more value from climbing nightly rates. The move of two flagship luxury houses into the model signals where Hilton may push next as it diversifies its portfolio.
Neither brand is a stranger to all-inclusive packages, which both have offered as optional rate plans before; the presumed strength of those offerings is part of what led to this. The difference now is that the model is the default rather than an add-on.
Guests who want to keep their children in tow can shift to the Conrad or the Hilton Cancun Mar Caribe, both of which keep a family-facing welcome.
Hilton has said nothing yet about how points pricing will adjust under the new model. Once the rates reappear, they will show what the complimentary inclusions have done to the nightly figure, and whether the value sums as generously as the list suggests.
