Nolinski Paris is what happens when Right Bank polish loosens its tie just enough. Set at 16 avenue de l’Opéra, close to the Palais Royal and the city’s grand shopping axis, it is a five-star hotel with a theatrical streak: colour, texture, candlelight and the slightly dangerous promise that nearly everything has been considered.

The visual pleasures stack up: fairy lights at the entrance, a minimalist reception, bedrooms in azure, gold, pink and yellow, deep bathtubs, a Grand Salon with cocktails, a teal piano and a silver-leaf ceiling. The Nolinski operates with a restaurant, cocktail bar and the Spa Nolinski by La Colline on site.

This is not the most discreet hotel in Paris, and that is rather the fun. It gives Belle Époque cues a contemporary gloss, then lets the spa below ground do the slowing-down.

For design-savvy travellers, the best part is the balance. Nolinski is central without feeling purely transactional, stylish without collapsing into showroom chill, and luxurious without requiring the full palace-hotel performance.
