Pleta de Mar Luxury By Nature

An adults-only hotel of 30 suites in the pine woods on the seafront at Canyamel, on Mallorca's north-east coast, with two infinity pools and a wood-fired grill by Marc Fosh.

Every suite at Pleta de Mar has its own terrace and an outdoor shower, among pine woods and Mediterranean gardens on the seafront at Canyamel. There are 30 of them, in the municipality of Capdepera on Mallorca’s north-east coast. The hotel is five-star Gran Lujo and for adults only, with a minimum age of 16. It is run by the Torre de Canyamel group, a Mallorcan family business that also farms and raises cattle.

The Concierge Suites are 50 m² in the pine forest. The Premium and Superior Suites add sea views and either a whirlpool or an outdoor bath, and the Luxury Suite is 70 m² with an outdoor whirlpool. At the top, the Grand Suite is 90 m², with a separate lounge, panoramic sea views and its own pool.

Two infinity pools open towards the sea. The outdoor wellness area adds a heated relaxation pool, a Finnish sauna, a Turkish bath, contrast showers and an ice fountain, with massages, yoga and an outdoor gym.

Smoke and embers do the cooking at Sa Pleta by Marc Fosh, where Balearic produce goes on a wood-fired grill from lunch through to dinner. Fosh has worked in Spain since 1991, and in 2002 he became the first British chef to win a Michelin star there. A private path runs 200 metres to the sister hotel, Can Simoneta, and guests can use the restaurants and facilities of both. That includes a beach restaurant at Canyamel and the Porxada de Sa Torre beside the 13th-century Torre de Canyamel.

Three routes lead to the water: the cove of Sa Cova dels Albardans, a staircase down to the sea at Can Simoneta, and Canyamel beach. The hotel runs boat days, and four golf courses lie within 8 km.
