Son Bunyola
Virgin Limited Edition's five-star estate in the Tramuntana between Banyalbufar and Esporles, with 27 rooms in a restored finca, three villas, its own pebble beach and a MICHELIN Key.
The infinity pool at Son Bunyola is on the historic terrace of a finca that dates to around the 16th century. Around it, olive and almond groves, citrus trees and vines run down to about three miles of coastline and the estate’s own pebble beach. The estate covers 810 acres on Mallorca’s north-west coast, in the UNESCO-listed Tramuntana mountains between the villages of Banyalbufar and Esporles. It belongs to Virgin Limited Edition and has held a MICHELIN Key since the 2025 guide.
Wine runs through the place. In the 19th century the estate was a respected producer, and in spring 2026 it released its first own-label wine in over a century, a Malvasia sold only on the estate. The Mallorcan studio Gras Reynes restored the buildings, with interiors by Rialto Living. The two original towers of the main house are now the Tower Suites, three floors each with a private roof terrace and 360-degree views. The old olive press has been restored too.
There are 27 rooms and suites, from Sea View rooms in the manor house to the Deluxe Suite with its freestanding bath. Three villas stand apart on the estate, each with a private heated pool and a full kitchen. Sa Punta de S’Aguila and Sa Terra Rotja sleep ten and stay open all year. Son Balagueret is being refurbished and reopens in summer 2027.
Sa Terrassa takes its name from the terrace in front of the finca. Chef Brenda Lisiotti cooks Mediterranean food there from the estate’s gardens, orchards and beehives, and the sommelier pours Mallorcan wines. The spa is small, with two treatment rooms, and uses Mallorca-made Gaia products and Olivier Claire. Its signature treatment, The Magic of the Olive Tree, runs 80 minutes.
Guided estate walks with a local historian, beekeeping, bikes, tennis and wine tastings are all included. Children of all ages are welcome, and there are resident donkeys. The hotel opens from March to November. Palma Airport is about 40 minutes by car, and Palma about 45.
